I had a discussion with someone last night and it turns out, according to them, my disease would never be considered chronic or even an illness. This was news to me. Always thought chronic meant long term, and always thought illness meant sickness or disease. The dictionary would say the same thing. I guess to some people what I have is a frequent disturbance in my health functioning. (ha ha thats what they actually said...but doesn't that imply a CHRONIC ILLNESS??). Anyways, opinions. A term you use to describe a thyroid problem.

I often wonder how people can say thyroid cancer is one of the best cancers to get- yes, its relatively curable, harsh treatments aren't common, etc. But it resumes for the rest of life. Every day is affected. In twenty years I will still be up and down with moods, temp, weight, etc. There is never a "5 year clearance" for me until I can say I am free of the charge. I wish people would stop thinking its a 'better cancer'. (venting done)
