Question Armour and Blood Pressure????

Hi,

I am currently on 3/4 grain Armour for about 2 weeks now. Started at 1/4 grain gradually increased each month to the current dose of 3/4 grain. My blood pressure has gone up to 122/76 (it used to be around 110/70 and lower before I started armour about 100/65). Is this normal and will my blood pressure go down once my body gets adjusted to meds? My pulse is fine. I dont feel anxious.

Should adjust the meds. Maybe its to much T3 for to handle. I very worried!

Thanks Nimbeth

Nimbeth, your current BP isn't necessarily high, while it's higher for you. One of the symptoms of HypoT is low blood pressure, which 100/65 is.

I have noticed that my own BP, which was all over the place prior to treatment has not settled at 125/73, right where it should be. It does fluctuate a little when I change the dose, but w/in a week or so it's back down to where it should be. FWIW, By keeping track of HR, BP and BBT I know when I'll need to adjust my meds.

Re: Armour and Blood Pressure????

Hi Gopherhead,

My BP seems to have gone down 106/67, my pulse is in the 50's and my temp these past few days has gone up to 98.3-98.5. And I must say that I am feeling better, more energy, better moods.

Hopefully I am on the right track!

Thanks for your insight.

Nimbeth

Re: Armour and Blood Pressure????

Can Armour cause high blood pressure? I feel my blood pressure has gone up too high and I am not sure if it is the Armour, or if there is another reason.

Re: Armour and Blood Pressure????

High BP is often a symptom of hyperthyroidism, which is the worry with too much thyroid meds, however, you can experience high BP with hypothyroidism as well. My own BP was all over the place, from way too low to way too high, until I was on meds. When it starts going whacky again I know it's time to have my levels checked because I'm probably due for an increase.
