Jen it's best to not take
any food with your Armour. Armour contains T4 and food and certain supplements can interfere with your body's ability to absorb it, effectively shortchanging you on your dose. Wait 2 hours for food and 4 hours for supplements or food high in iron, fibre and calcium. The alternative to waiting this amount of time is to put the Armour under your tongue and let it disolve. This way you can eat whenever and you don't have to worry that some of the meds didn't get past your stomach.
Some of us like to divide our Armour into two doses and take them 6 hours apart. This is because the another hormone in Armour, T3, is very potent yet very short lived. If you take all of it at once you can find that you're dragging later in the day because the T3 has been 'used up'. By dividing the dose you can prolong the life of the T3. I'll typically take one dose at 6 a.m. and the next one around 12:30 - 1 pm and I'm fine right up until bed time.
