I have been on meds for hyperthyroid and seem to be doing better with it. In the past few days I've gotten dry, scaly patches on the skin above and below one of my eyes. Seems I read somewhere this might be caused by hypo or hyper, but I can't remember. Anyone out there know...or was it something unrelated that I read?

I understand hypo causes dry skin, although I have experienced hypo and hyper symptoms when adjusting to a new dosage. Some symptoms like hair loss are mostly when you are hypo but can occur when you are hyper (it happenes to me).

As for the dry patches try an over the counter lotion "Eucerin", it might help. My pediatrician recommended it when my daughter had dry patches.

yep im hyper too and had dry skin while med adjusting and starting good luck
