I have been reading a lot of the posts on here, and can't find my question.
I had 6 nodules, 6 years ago, and had a total thyroidectomy. I go once a year now for blood work and have it checked. This year I am due for a new scan, and I am a little afraid of going, I have been having trouble swollowing again, and I seem to feel a large nodule in my neck.
Has anyone that has had their thyroid removed, had trouble with more nodules growing? I know the first time, they were encapsulated so I didn't have to have radiation or anything, but doubt I would be so lucky this time.
Anyway, has anyone had more nodules grow after having their thyroid removed?
TY April, yes they took all of my thyroid out, in fact he said he bruised the para thyroid getting it all. Had to stay in hospital a couple extra days to make sure the para's were going to keep working. Which they did.
But of course I didn't even know at the time I had para thyroid glands. lol

Hello I am new to the Boards I came here looking for some help and to read other posts in hopes I am not alone and came across your post. I had 60% removed it will be a year 2/3. And I did have a Nodule grow back the Dr. told me that it was alright, But please dont go by that advice as I am not happy at the moment w/ either of the 2 Dr's I have seen. But I wanted to let you know that it did happen to me..
