Question about BBT and thyroid treatment

I was wondering if you were taking the appropriate thyroid medications and the correct dosage would your temperature be 98.6? Is that a sign that your thyroid is now normalized or could your temperature still be off even if your on all the correct dosages?

Re: Question about BBT and thyroid treatment

I'm sorry, but don't know the answer to your question. All I do know is that even with the right medications for me, I still have a low temp, hands still cold. I think I just live with it in exchange for feeling better. Right now, during the winter I think we might all need more meds to keep us feeling better. I know I have been more run down and have more stuffy head and runny nose more often.

Re: Question about BBT and thyroid treatment

Thanks Bellajoon, gee I didn't realize runny and stuffy noses were hypothroid symptoms. No wonder my nose is always running.

Re: Question about BBT and thyroid treatment

I think thyroid problems can seem to play havoc on our immune system, therefore we are more apt to get sick easier. Seems I have had sinus type infections on and off since June of last year. I have never hacked so much before in the morning. My hubby is now joking about it.

Re: Question about BBT and thyroid treatment

Yes, thats how it is for me, in the morning is when I'm sneezing, and blowing my nose, by afternoon its fine. I thought it was because we have vent blowing heat not baseboard heat and that tends to make it a bit dry maybe its both who knows?

Re: Question about BBT and thyroid treatment

It is so weird in the morning. I have to blow my nose so much. I really think I am allergic to dust! I wash my sheets and pillowcases quite a lot because if I don't, I start wheezing! I think dust mites are the culprit there. It is amazing that our bodies are so suseptible to certain things. We just have to keep on top of it constantly.
