Recovery from surgery dovetailed into preparation for Radioactive Iodine Treatment to destroy any remaining thyroid tissue. About seven-eight weeks total before I felt partly "normal". It took months to get my thyroid medication to the correct dose, but my main symptom was being tired.

Stiff neck due to surgery limited the motion I had and was told not to drive for at least two weeks. My neck began to heal very quickly, swelling lasted a couple of weeks. The scare is bearly noticable today, it looks like a line in my neck. It has been three year since surgery. Good Luck.
