Did anyone feel better immediately?

I just began on synthroid 2 days ago. I felt better within a day. Increased energy and a clearer head. Now, I know I have a long way to go, but it was like my body gave a sigh of relief to have some t4. Did anyone have a similar experience? I know my doc would say it's the placebo effect.

Re: Did anyone feel better immediately?

I increased my dose up from 50 to 75 and in less than 3 days felt easier. Also (do not know if this is real or not) I have begun to disolve the synthroid under my tongue, and I feel the effects sooner than swallowing it, and also do not crash so early in the afternoon.

Been dx's since 1996 and this upped dose was only just almost a year ago....

Re: Did anyone feel better immediately?

I too can feel a difference immediately, not 6 wks later. Maybe we're more sensitive or something.

Thanks for the idea of trying a med under your tongue for faster and more long-lasting results. I'm on a different brand but think I'll try that. When swallowed immediately it doesn't get any saliva mixed with it, which must aid digestion.

Re: Did anyone feel better immediately?

Just remember though, I am not sure of other brands taste wise. Synthroid is quite sweet and no problem disolving it. It takes about 15 min thereabouts and I try to resist temptation of chomping on it hahha. Do not know if that would have any bearing on it thought.

That way there is not so long a wait until I get my morning wake up coffee into me..... if the med is already swimming about my blood stream.

Re: Did anyone feel better immediately?

Many people report subtle differences very quickly when starting a new dose. I think that since SCIENCE can't prove it, it doesn't exist in the textbooks the doctors read. So, in the end, your best bet is to trust yourself.
