Am I to young to be hypothryoid. I am 24? My cousin was 27 when she found out. She said truth be known she probably had symptoms for way longer just didn't know it. Thanks for any info!

I'm 19 and was diagnosed hypo a month ago.. I've had symptoms for a year or two though, just didn't realize that they all fit together!

thanks that makes me feel better. My husband is in the marine corps and at our last duty station the doctor told me I was to young to have a thyroid disorder. He didn't listen to me that my mom,grandma, both aunts, and cousin all have it. They are all on the same side of the family also. I am going to my moms doctor next week to get a blood test because now that we have moved I don't want to have to go through all the BS just to get it checked.

nope! Im 19 and Im hypo (hashimotos) so...i dont believe age matters too much. My mom was 11 when she had her thyroid removed for a goiter.

My daughter was eight when she was diagnosed hypo and I believe she had been for several years prior to being diagnosed. It's good that you are going to go to a different doc.

Our son was dxed at 10 but he displayed symptoms back to age 7.
