I got the date for my FNA today since they decided they couldnt do it without the ultrasound machine....so im going to be going to the radiology department of the hospital to have it done. *sigh* its all this waiting thats making me crazy!!

Yeah I did forget to tell you when didnt I...well I went for it today...

..turns out the radiologist looked at all of my previous films (3 previous ultrasounds, the CT, and the nuclear med scan) and read all the reports and said that there is no reason to biopsy it. He said nothing shows abnormality. The area they thought was a lymph node is a lymph node (not abnormal in size) and that the surface of the thyroid is bumpy (or heterogeneous) but other than that he said there isnt anything to poke because the small nodules that I have he said are not cold.

He recommended to me that I get a repeat ultrasound in 6 months to verify that the size is not changing...and keep an eye on it...but he said in comparison with all three ultrasounds throughout this last year...the size isnt changing.

So good news...no needles

I was very pleased with this news...now I just wait to talk to my doctor and see when he wants to do more bloodwork and im done for a while
