Re: Hyperthyroid and tired all the time

Hi Lisa, Yes , hyperthyroid will make you tired and depressed with tremors.

I remember having to work when I had hyper/graves. It was hard to concentrate, heart palpatations.

What medication are you on and how low have you been taking it?

Betty

Re: Hyperthyroid and tired all the time

It took about 2-3 weeks for me to actually start feeling any better. The doc put me on a beta blocker called Toprolxl. I had high bloodpressure and was in pretty bad shape. Also I took tapazole for awhile. Started seeing another doctor and he changed me to PTU. He thought it was a better choice. I don't know any difference in them. With tapazole, you can take less, and more when on PTU.

The Toprolxl really helped calm me down pretty fast. It is for slowing the heartrate down, high blood pressure, anxiety.

Hope you get to feeling better soon.

Re: Hyperthyroid and tired all the time

Hi,
I have a very fast heart rate according to the cardiologist this is the reason for my thyroid being checked in the first place that and the tremors, but I have low blood pressue so I can not take a beta blocker because it makes your blood pressure go down even more and it would be to dangerous for me, so I was told to take an asprin a day and if it gets to bad to go to er. I am having trouble understanding how all this can gappen out of te blue your fine one day and then the next you think your going to have a heart attack or something

Re: Hyperthyroid and tired all the time

God I hate that bedtime racing. Can hear every speeding thump. Mine doesn't even beat right when Im hyper....its like supposed to be lub-dub, lub dub.......but mine's like ca-tik ca-tik ca-tik ca-tik....with a heart palp thrown into the works every now and then and then I get these weird "breathing episodes" when hyper like I just awoke starteled from a dream but Im not sleeping yet. Hate those the most.

Re: Hyperthyroid and tired all the time

Speaking of strange heart beats when hyper..
Has anyone's doctor checked for valve trouble? One of the doctors that saw me was really concerned about this and checked. Had me a bit freaked out, but it turned out that my heart was fine.
