I don't really choke on my food or anything. I have a little trouble breathing sometimes. But when it comes time to take that little bitty levothyroxine pill, no matter how much water I drink, I feel like it's trying to crawl back up my throat.
Has anyone else experienced this choking on the pill and nothing else? If so, does anybody know why it happens?
Depo Provera is the devil in disguise.
I have always had problems swallowing pills, even moreso right before my surgery. Taking my eltroxin (levothyroxine) is just as bad, it feels like it's stuck in there. I find taking my BC pill at night is still hard to do, and they're even smaller than the thyroid pill in the AM! Its so annoying. Nobody else I know has problems swallowing pills, so they don't know what it's like. A couple nights before my surgery, I was taking my BC pill and it would NOT go down, and I started choking a bit and it came flying out of my mouth like someone gave me the heimlich!!
i was just telling my husband the same thing.
he said it's because it's soft. it's soft because it's absorbed by the body faster than synthroid. i didn't have that problem w/ synthroid i think because it's a harder pill.
I just took my pill this morning and thought I would say, I've found it much easier to swallow if I put water in my mouth before the pill, then toss the little pill in there. It went down easily this morning.
