Cold Intolerance?

If my TSH levels have been stable yet I am experiencing some new cold intolerance does this mean my TSH levels are no longer stable?

I HAVE started eating a higher fiber diet (which I understand can affect absorbtion of Levothyroxine) but I do always take my medicine on an empty stomach and an hour before eating; plus, I have been exercising much, much more (does an increase in physical exertion warrant a change in levels?).

The cold intolerance is similiar to pre-diagnosis. Even when standing in a very hot shower, I am chilled to the bone. I am sleeping in full pajamas, under two blankets and still, chilled to the bone.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Thanks so much.

Re: Cold Intolerance?

Is your basal temperature also dropping? Sounds like you are taking your Levothroid correctly. Also exercise should enhance your blood circulation. I think it's time for another TSH test. You may need adjustment in dosage.

Re: Cold Intolerance?

Thanks Linda,

I haven't checked my basal temperature. I didn't realize it would register on a thermometer. Just thought it was all in in the way I felt. I'll be interested to see what it is. I feel absolutely terrible.

I live in Georgia. Our temp today was in the 60's. I wore long underwear beneath my clothing and turned the heater up to 90, in my car, on the way to work.

If I still feel this bad through the weekend, I will call my doctor on Monday.

Thanks again.
