Unhappy HELP Please--Post partum thyroiditis
Hi Everyone, I am so glad I found this boards as it has been very helpful.

I was just diagnosed with post partum thyroiditis with my TSH being 150!! Hence why I've been feeling so crappy.. They are starting me out on 75hcg of Synthroid.. I am also scheduled for a thyroid ultrasound. Which has me freaked out.... Is this normal procedure when you see an endocornologist? Just looking for anyone who can enlighten me on this as I am very afraid.. Also, has anyone with postpartum thyroidits had any luck losing weight?

Hi there!

Don't freak out about the ultrasound. THey probably just want to make sure everything is ok and get a good look at things.

Usually when you have postpartum thyroiditis you are at higher risk of developing thyroid problems later in life.

If it is thyroiditis it should go away. Until your thyroid function is normal it may take a while to lose the weight.
