Eastern medicine saved me....

So, I have been through thyroid hell for over a year and I finally have good news.
I started out with the diagnosis of Graves, had RAI treatment, went incredibly hypothyroid, then bounced back to slightly hyperthyroid and am now "normal". I actually don't have to go back to my endo for 4 months from now!!!! I have, for the past year, been in every 6-8 weeks.
My latest labs:
TSH 0.48 range 0.40-5.50
FT4 1.1 range 0.8-1.8
I am finally feeling good, which I thought would never happen again and I think that I owe it all to starting acupuncture. I started treatment about a month ago and I started noticing that I didn't feel as fatigued and started to actually have energy again. My acupuncturist also suggested that I was probably suffering from adrenal fatigue so he started me on Phytisone, a Chinese herbal remedy. In addition, I started yoga again and am currently doing 2 sessions per week. I can actually say I am feeling good these days. I highly recommend that if you haven't had success with Western medicine alone that you give Eastern medicine a try in conjunction with your regular therapy.
I feel like I have my life back and I never thought I would be able to say that. I hope that all of you are able to say these words because I know the darkest points of thyroid disease and it feels so amazing to finally feel the light at the end of this journey. I wish all of you the best of health.
Sincerely,
april
