Question For ones that have switched from Armour to only t4

I am doing a little research here. Just want to know how much t4 you have to take , and how much Armour you were on.

Most likely people switch from t4 to Armour. I am asking the question backwards.

Appreciate any replies

Re: For ones that have switched from Armour to only t4

Hi Lady,
I was taking something equivilant to Armour and I started feeling hyper. I don't know if it was the ratio of t3 to t4 or what. Then I went to taking levothyroxine and .5 mcg. cytomel and I felt better. Then, we tried to increase them both and I could not handle it. It seems like I can't handle t3. So, I am only taking t4 and I feel much better. I have a pituitary problem though so I think that may have something to do with it.
How are you feeling?
Anne

Re: For ones that have switched from Armour to only t4

I had trouble with the T3 in Armour too. I could only get up to 90 mgs of Armour, (which was NOT enough to make me feel well), but if I went up only 15 mgs, I had hyper symptoms. I'm now on 100 mcg Levothroid, and finally feeling pretty good.
Good luck..

I ahve a adenoma on pituitary. My growth hormone levels are low and the most recent endo thinks my adrenals are starting to fail.
Have you had an MRI?

Re: For ones that have switched from Armour to only t4

Thank you all for your replies. I am now on 3 grains split during the day. Awhile back I did add some t4 while on 2 grains(because I felt so terrible).

I will see what happens. So far so good.
