Has my doctor got it wrong?

About 10 months ago I found a lump on my thyroid gland. It turns out it's just a benign cyst; I'm due for an operation soon to have it removed.

In the meantime I'm experiencing the following symptoms:
- sore and achy joints
- fatigue and dizziness
- a slightly higher pitched voice
- random and intermittent itches all over

I've mentioned all of these to my doctor but he seems to think that they are all unrelated to the cyst.

Is it possible that after having my cyst removed these symptoms will still persist?

Re: Has my doctor got it wrong?

I too have a nodule on my thyroid and I can verify for you that the nodule itself causes all kinds of problems. I know they say it isn't so, but it is. For some reason dr's just don't get it that the nodules themselves can take on a life of their own!

Re: Has my doctor got it wrong?

Thanks for the reassurance - are you having a operation too? What sort of treatment have they suggested for you?
