question about my scar from TT

As I posted earlier I had a TT on July 9th. I went to the surgeon yesterday and he took out the staples and informed me that I am Hypocalcemic. Anyway, my scar looks really good on one side but on the other side it is raised red and swollen. There is no discharge or anything. I have problems with keloids from previous sugeries. Could this be the problem?
Also he told me to take Oscal D 500 two pills three times a day for the first week. Then take one pill three times a day the following week. Is it a possibility that I will have to this for the rest of my life with the other med? To my knowledge the parathyroid was not damaged. My calcium level was fine out of surgery and up until I came home the next morning. I didn't see the surgeon that did it, I see him on July 8.
I saw the ENDO on the 14th, he did blood work to see where I stand with the synthroid.
