Thyroid nodules
What is the minimum nodule size that would warrant FNA? I have 2 on the left lobe, don't know if they are hot or cold, or what the size is. Should get results from dr. next week.

This is just my opinion.............if you have nodules of any decent size, get them biopsied. Even a biopsy can give inconclusive results. Have you had an ultra sound to see how big they are ? That is how they usually determine the size.

I have 2 of them. I had the large one biopsied last July and am thinking now about getting it removed.

The FNA is nothing to worry about, It is pretty painless and it takes just a few moments. If you have to have one, don't worry about it too much.

I can relate. I have a small nodule inside the right thyroid lobe. They performed a biopsy due to my family history of thyroid cancer, but were unable to get an adequate specimen. I will be going back for a follow-up ultrasound in October. Hang in there! Does anyone know if nodules can interfere with your thyroid medication? I continue to have problems and my dosage keeps needing to be bumped up. It doesn't seem like the medication is helping at all.
