My neck has been swollen for awhile now (not too noticeable), I took antibiotics to see if it was an infection, but they didn't help. I've also been hurting under my underarms. Some of my other symptoms are: Weak, tired, hungry more often but not really feeling like eating, kinda "out of it" sometimes, maybe a little lightheaded time from time, always cold (although I've always been like this..), hmm.. achy all over, nervousness, stress.
Does this sound like my thyroid is acting up?? I got a thyroid/blood test done today & I should get the news back today. I'm kinda excited to finally know why I've been feeling so.. weird. But I'm some what scared too, if something is wrong with my thyroid.. is it serious?? And what can I do to help me feel better?
Okay, I never did recieve a call from the doctor's office so I called up there just now. They said my test came back normal.. so now I'm kinda scared. I gotta go back Monday to get a ultrasound done on my neck (where the swolling is at).. which is gonna be over $100. I've already spent over $200 just for doctor visits.. this is getting to much. I'm a college student with no cash, it's becoming hard to handle.. and now I'm terrified.. thinking I have have the "C" word or something. =\
Did you have any antibodies testing done? If you could still get a copy of your results and post them here that would be great. Even though docs say your normal it doesn't necessarily mean that your thyroid is functioning properly.
There are other things that can be going on besides the "C" word so relax, if you can. You may have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis which causes the thyroid to swell and you can have "normal" blood tests with that also.
