I'm Hypo, which I have been for several years. Currently treated with 200mcg T4 which my Doctor thinks is too high but I still think it too low (you probably know that scenario )
Anyway, although my temperature seems to be constantly low, several times during the day, without any particular reason, I feel incredibly hot - like I've stepped into a sauna. It's that kind of feeling where your forehead runs with sweat, your clothes stick to you and you feel like your going to overheat if you don't rip your shirt off and stand outside in the cold!
Yep, I get it with hypo and with perimeno symptoms...are you a women? If you are, perimeno can have very similar symptoms to hypo and can kick in 5-10 years or so before the REAL menopause....my temperature tends to be on the lower end as well...always has.....even on the days I feel better...pixiek
Yes, I get that, too. It's to the point that my husband can tell when I am going to heat up like a furnace even before I do. I am hoping that my upcoming TT and eventually finding the right dosage of hormone replacement will at least relieve it somewhat.
I'm new to the board so can't say I'm an expert, but I only started feeling those hot flashes once I started Levoxyl. I thought that either 1) the dose was too high for me or 2) I was having a reaction to the medicine.
Although the doctor now wants to try Synthroid, I'm a bit nervous. The hypo feeling is almost better than the hot flashes.
