Do all those that have Thyroid disorders, have to have the flu jab? I have heard that if you have an autoimmune disease, the jab might trigger of another one? Should I have it, I have an underactive thyroid.
I am not sure about getting a flu shot with hypo antibodies. The ones I have are Graves antibodies, TSI Thyroid Stimulating Immunoglobins. I was told to stay clear of a flu shot because it will stir up the antibodies. So, I don't get one unless I have to.
Maybe someone else can tell you more about it.

My doc said, "no problem." I know that since becoming hypo, when I do get a cold, it always seems worse and lasts longer than it used to. So given that, I've gone ahead and gotten the flu shot each year. Haven't had any problems with it.
I too have hypo/Hashi's, and have had a flu shot the last 3 years that I've had hypo, and no bad reactions whatsoever. My 3 girlfriends that are hypo, also get their flu shots every Fall. We're all kind of afraid not to get one, since our immune systems aren't quite normal any more.

My last flu shot about 8 years ago and I totally got the flu. Had like 104 fever and was throwing up and was miserable for 3 days after my shot. Needless to say that was my last flu shot. I remember it was Thanksgiving.....was sick as a dog. It could only happen to me.
