Should I take my Armour once or twice a day?

I got a doctor to believe me, even though my labs are all in the "normal" range! He prescribed Armour, but he said most people only take it once a day. I thought that more people divided the dose and took it twice a day for better results, but he said that wasn't necessary. I am supposed to take one 30 mg tablet every day for 2 days, and then I am supposed to take 2 tablets (total 60 mg) everyday after that (all in one dose). This is a starting dose for me, since I have not been on meds. before for this. Does this sound right to you all? Should I refrigerate the medicine? Any suggestions?

I hear to split the armour because the T3 is short acting. Am and Pm (around 3 or 4 when you start to sag) seems to work for many folks. I don't think it needs to be in the frig. Pixiek

Re: Should I take my Armour once or twice a day?

I take mine only once, in the a.m. I have never experienced a p.m. "slump" as sometimes happens when the T3 wears off. Besides, I'd never remember to take that second dose, even if I could figure out a time when my stomach would be empty enough to absorb it. Too much trouble in that method for my taste.

My advice, try the single dose method first. If you get droopy in the p.m., split the dose. And if you find you get too much of a buzz from the single dose, that would be another reason to split.
