Hyperparathyroidism

Kant,

I got my lab results today - & their ranges. My T3 was in range - 138 & the reference range was 60-181, my T4 was high 12.8 - reference range was 4.5-12.5 & my TSH was 0.26 & the reference range was 0.40-5.50. So the Dr reduces my Synthroid from 175 to 150 mcg. Does all of this sound correct?

Re: Hyperparathyroidism

Linda,

I would watch for symptoms with a big drop like that. Perhaps he should have done a Monday-Wed-Fri dose of 175 and the rest at 150. That is a big drop. See how you feel and let him know if symptoms set in. Your t3 is good, if you feel bad it might stand to come up a bit.

Just keep an eye on things............watch for any muscle aches or pains to set in and let the dr know asap so they don't set in.

Hey Karen,

Thanks for the info. I at at 150 mcg - for a week or so - no problems yet. I have been feeling pretty good - but could still use more energy & would like for my hair to stop coming out.

Have you heard anymore from Tanja?

Your quote never came to my e-mail - was wondering if you got my post - just found it on the board.

Thanks again,
Linda

Re: Hyperparathyroidism

Never did hear from Tanja, I just worry about her so and am afraid she is too sick to post!

It might take a bit longer for the symptoms to set in with the decrease..........just watch.

Take the supplement biotin for your hair. Also some vitamin E helps too. I really think if you had some cytomel added in your hairloss would lessen............

Good to hear from you!!

How is your hubby???

Karen

Re: Hyperparathyroidism

Hi there,
How are you Linda and Karen? I hope you guys feel alot better then me.
Haven't felt like much of anything lately. My endo decreased my dose from 150 to 125 because she thought I was a tad bit hyper. Eversince the decrease I can't stay up past 8 pm but then I'm back up at 2 in the morning.
I just feel worn out. On top of that I keep loosing more and more hair being on the meds. Had to start wearing a wig that's how bad it is. I'm just plain depressed.
See ya,
Tanja

Hey Tanja -- I've been thinking about you. Are you feeling any better? Did you even find a new endo?
