Can you take decongestants with thyroid meds??

I just started thyroid meds for hypo and was wondering why decongestants always say "don't use if you have thyroid disease??" I have been taking sudafed (I have chronic sinus problems) for a long time (not all the time, just on and off) but can I not take them anymore because of the thyroid meds? What about over the counter cold medications??Anything that seriously interacts with thyroid meds??
