Not so much a bump as a spot where the nail is detached - I had it too.

Re: Want to hear a fun fact about Grave's??

After reading your posts I decided to do a "nail" search. I've always wondered why I only have moons on my thumbs, which are barely visible. I found that this could indicate low thyroid (I am a Hashi's person). And likewise, large moons could mean high thyroid. Interesting. Also, my fourth fingernail splits longitudinally. I would suspect this could be from nail trauma, but then I also have it on one toe. Hmmmmm.

The nail situation has a name -- it is called Plummer's Syndrome. I might be spelling it wrong, but that's the name of it.
