Hi. I had posted a while back about being diagnosed with sinus tachycardia and being placed on a beta blocker. I was a little concerned with that because my GP gave me no explination after doing the run of the mill blood tests (including only TSH even though I have a huge family history of thyroid disease) so I went to a cardiologist to get a second opinion before starting the med. Well the first appointment with the cardio, he decided that I should start taking the beta blocker and wanted to test my thyroid further and do an echocardiogram. I went back two days later (which was Wednesday April 12th) and had the echo and the blood drawn for the thyroid tests. I've been taking the beta blocker since April 10th and it seems to be helping. Is it strange though that I haven't heard anything back about my tests though yet? I am very curious to find out about my blood tests and am not sure if I should call or just assume everything is normal since I haven't heard anything yet? I am supposed to go back to the cardio on May 22nd but I can't wait that long to find out. Should I just call myself and ask for the results or is that being too pushy???
Call!!!!!
Believe me, there are just too many ways human error can occur in a doctor's office in terms of handling test results - they may not have called you because the results were normal, but who knows if they got misfiled?
I say, always call for your results if you don't hear in a reasonable time.
