Afternoon labs, wait how long after taking meds?

this has been talked about at least 3 times this past month... so I'm blind and obviously I'm not doing a search right because I can't find any of the posts I KNOW talk about it LOL.

I know it's best to get labs taken in the morning, but often times I can't go until afternoon... How many hours should you wait after taking armour then to take labs in the afternoon? I can't recall if I read 4 or 6 before (I hate to skip taking a dose a whole day for afternoon labs)

Re: Afternoon labs, wait how long after taking meds?

To recap:
~ If you are taking Armour (or any combination of T3 and T4) within 8 hours before a blood test, it will skew your Free T3 and Free T4, but shouldn't have an effect on Total T3, Total T4, T3 Uptake, or TSH.

~ If you are taking Synthroid or any other T4-only med within 8 hours before a blood test, it will skew your FreeT4 test, but not Total T4, Free T3, Total T3, T3 Uptake or TSH.

~ If you are taking Cytomel within 8 hours before a blood test, it will skew your FreeT3 test, but not Total T3, Free T4, Total T4, T3 Uptake or TSH.

To be honest, I have skipped a dose of my Armour on rare occasions, and I don't really notice it having an effect at all.
If you're one of those who uses the split dose method, and who crashes horribly without an afternoon portion, you may have to be creative to fit it in around the blood test.
