Pap Test?

The first Endo I went to insisted he do a complete exam including a pap test and breast exam. I informed him that I had one about 1 month ago and I refused to let him do it. I was just wondering if this is part of the normal exam by an Endo? Needless to say, my following visits were not too pleasant, he seemed upset with me, so I am looking for a new dr.

Re: Pap Test?

I can't think of any reason an endo would need to do those exams.
We had a thread here a while back where people told their stories about warped MDs they'd encountered. I wonder if you've had one too.

Re: Pap Test?

That sounds really strange! Cant see how an Endo would even be permitted to do A Pap??
I remember going to a gastrointeroligist and he did a breast exam and that made me quite uncomfortable but when I was leaving i asked the nurse & she said he does it as part of his exam. She said he caught quite a bit of Breast cancers..........Still.......I thought, Very odd!
Be careful, ask the nurse there but I just dont see where his pap qualifications come from.

Re: Pap Test?

That is definitely not part of an endo exam. I would report him and definitely find a new doctor....
