How do you know if a nodule has grown AFTER having a Ultrasound?
Hi friends,

Last night i was thinking.....Uh Oh! LOL

I want to know, once you have an ultrasound of the thyroid, if it only shows a goiter or inflamation how do you know if nodules grow after that? I'm assuming a nodule or growth can grow at anytime & these dr's certainly dont repeat U/S's as part of routine. (Its usually one and no more).

If they are just watching it, IMO they will do another ultrasound.

My dr and I are watching my nodule. I have my next sonogram in June.

I'm sure if you stress out about it enough they will do another one on you just to get you quite. Hmmmmm.....always a thought!

Dr should of given you a list. It may included:

trouble swallowing
change in voice
tightness in throat
don't remember all of them

And normally they do another US after 6 months to year, unless you start having trouble like mentioned above.
