armour dose

what is the average armour dose most people would take. i am up to 3 grains, but i dropped back to two, i was getting kinda shaky hands , mainly when i am doing something that requires deailed work , like hooking a computer cable.

my levels were normal when i started, even thou i only have half a thyroid. but i had horrible skin, was very tired, and my brain was froze. so they are letting me try armour, and they said go up till i feel better then they will draw my blood again.

i dont know if my symptoms now mean i need to up my dose or back off cause these are new, i have indegestion, stiff like muscles, and i think i am gaining weight, even thou i dont eat as much now and exercise more? my skin seems better, i dont have cyst like i did, my hair seems to be growing some, my periods are way more lighter with less cramps.

these new things have me puzzled.

Re: armour dose

I'm not sure what to tell you. I think you need to have some bloodwork done to see where you're at. The first tme I was on armour I was taking too much and it caused it's own slew of symptoms, some which were very similar to regualr hypo symptoms.

How quickly did you go up to 3 grains? And drop down to 2 grains? How long have you been on 2 grains now?

Re: armour dose

i have only dropped back to two since monday (about 4 days). it took me about 3 months to get up to 3 grains.

interesting you had hypo symptoms with too much armour, maybe i should stay at 2 for awhile and see if i get better.

Re: armour dose

Have you thought about trying 2 1/2 grains?

Re: armour dose

You might try taking the armour in a split dose twice a day instead of once per day. T3 has a short life. This is the reason some people get an afternoon drop in energy. The T3 should be supplemented twice per day. You can just split the pill...exact splitting shouldn't matter.
