do you think i have a thyroid problem?

I have been dealing with anxiety, depression, and panic attacks for starters. It has been a battle. I have issues going on with my health such as low testosterone and I am only 40. I have a liver mass which they are going to biopsy soon. I have had something that scared me recently. For instance when working out I was getting palpitations and brain fog afterwards. I was having racing heart a few weeks back but things are better. My doc did notice my rapid heart and sent me to a cardiologist. I have had an echocardiogram and next is a holter and stress test. With the advent of many symptoms, I have been feeling out of balance. My doctor did run thyroid tests but they come back normal. I have been doing my own research and even checked my temperature right when I wake up and the latest readings have been 96.4, 96.8 and 97.1. Unfortunately some doctors treat the numbers of your thyroid tests and not the symptoms thats why I asked to see an endocrinologist to look into the testosterone issue and maybe thyroid/adrenal probs. He is stating it is depression but my body feels out of balance. I am tempted to take some meds for it...i don't know.
I have 2 sisters with low thyroid probs and my mom had it. My daughter has Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes. Our family has endocrine probs.
I don't know what to do! HELP!! My body is out of balance!
Patrick

Re: do you think i have a thyroid problem?

Hello, Yes I agree that your morning temperatures seem low and you just don't feel right on top of that. You can get your own tests thru HealthcheckUSA. They have the Thyroid panel and other tests as well.

Anemia can also cause low body temperatures, so you might want to get your hemoglobin checked. If you have a State Health Department close by, you can have it checked on the spot with results, for a few dollars.

Good luck to you

"Normal" is a subjective term in the thyroid world. Three MDs might have three opinions whether your results are really "normal" or not. I wouldn't just take one guy's word for it. Either get a copy of the report and figure out for yourself what it shows, or get new tests done by a different doctor. (You can post your results with their lab ranges here if you choose. Someone can help you figure out what the MD may be missing.)
Your family history puts you at much higher risk for thyroid trouble, and your symptoms point to it too.
