Hi Everyone.....I have a question about my thyroid results that I'm hoping someone can give me some clarity. I had my thyroid tested in 2004, everyone thing was fine. However, last week I was tested and one test came back suggesting I might have an overactive thyroid, the other came back suggesting I might have an underactive thyroid and the third test done I was fine???? Very, very confused??? My Dr. had me re-test today. Shes sending me to an endocrinologist but in the mean time does anyone know what this could mean?? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanxs.

Hi!

It sounds like to me you have some kinda of thyroiditis. I am not sure which kind. Do you have a nodule? Can you post your results of the blood results and the ranges? I have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis and I went thourgh the hyper, normal, hyper, normal, hyper, and etc. I have a 1.25 nodule and had a fna (biopsy on the thyroid). I hope your endo can help and help answer your questions. Take Care!

I'll call tomorrow and try to get my test results and then I'll post them ASAP. In the mean time, what type of treatment do they ususally suggest for thyroiditis? Do most of the people w/ this condition have nodes? and are the nodes usually taken out? Thanxs again for the information.
