My general practitioner placed me on 25 MCG of Synthroid. She was thinking I may have a thyroid issue even though my tests appear normal. I just started the dose this morning at 7AM. Around 11:30 I had heart palpitations and felt dizzy. My heart was racing away still at 1:30 and I was still felling dizzy so I went to the e.r. The doc said I may have had a reaction and suggested I call the doctor. Is it possible I need a lower dosage? What would you suggest? Do I even need meds?
Has anyone else dealt with something like this?
My last numbers in June were:
T3 Total: 108 NG/DL
T3 Uptake: 34%
T4 Free: 1.3 NG/DL
T4 Total: 7.7 MCG/DL
TSH: 1.57

t understand why she has given you thyroid drugs your tsh is well in range i dont know about the others but i would stop if i was you of course disscuss it with her, is this the first test you have had??? i think she shoul keep an eye on your bloods say every 3 months before giving you drugs, incidentally what promted you to go for the testing??? did you have symptoms?? and what wre they?

Your reaction to the Synthroid is typical of someone who is hyperthyroid. Based on that I'd say you either don't need it or need a smaller dose.

Did the ER run another thyroid panel on you? I would go back to the docs and ask for another test. You look closer to hyper than you do hypo.
sadly not all docs know how to interpret the results.
