Question Question for those who had a Thyroidectomy???

I had my total thyroidectomy this past Dec 27th.

I most recently was taking 90 mg of Armour in the am and 60 mg in the pm.

My labs came back recently.

TSH 0.006 REF RANGE 0.350 - 5.5000

T4 Direct 1.35 REF RANGE 0.61 - 100.0

I felt pretty good on my armour dose except I was getting a little wired at night and having trouble sleeping. My hair seemed to shed more too. Overall I felt pretty great.

My Doc said I could Try decreasing to 60 mg armour in the am and 60 mg armour in the pm.

So I did this. I'm on day 10 now. I'm sleeping alot better but I feel like I'm dragging alot more during the day.

Do you guys think I should give it more time or go back to taking the orginal dose.

THANKS

Sounds like your body is using up the T3 component of Armour before the day is done. Try increasing the AM dose and decreasing the PM dose by the same amount. That might help get you through the day and give you a better sleep at night.
