nuclear scan showed an enlarged thyroid with multi-nodular cold cyst. uptake states thyroid is hypo. blood work TSH? is 1.68. dr. said this is a normal range. why does uptake say hypo and blood work say normal and i feel like crap? have gained 20 pounds in 3 months. get weighed once a week and gauranteed there will be another 3 pounds up. i eat healthy and get moderate excercise since i am injured. eating and excercise haven't changed in years. the only addition is this thyroid problem that one says is a problem and another says isn't. any help out there?

i'm sorry you're going through this

ask your doctor to run Free T3 and Free T4 tests, plus antibodies. If you're feeling hypo and one of your tests indicates that you are hypo then hopefully your doctor will pursue it... if you have nodules doesn't that imply hashimoto's?

I don't know much about it I'm afraid, I'm a standard hypo type and other people will know a lot more - just wanted to give some input and let you know that someone cares!
