Help With Lab Results Please!

Hello I posted here a couple of weeks ago about symptoms I was having, including anxiety attacks, no sex drive, excessive facial hair ect.... I had all my hormone levels checked including my TSH level. My level is 0.418 and the scale is 0.350-5.500 uIU.ml there is a notation under the level saying "Test methodology is 3rd generation TSH". Doctor says that all my levels are just fine and put me Paxil CR for anxiety attacks. Is this level normal? Just seems low to me. Thanks

Re: Help With Lab Results Please!

In addition to the previous post. I am also having hot flashes, i'm very irritable, and tired all the time. I wake up feeling tired! I'm thinking about making an appointment with an endo just to follow up from my primary's diagnosis. Maybe have a whole thyroid panel done? What do you think. Is it possible that I'm hyper even if my level is what it is?

Re: Help With Lab Results Please!

It's tough to say based on TSH alone. Yours is low-normal, but still in-range. Your doctor must be one of those who swears on the infallibility of TSH, and because it's in range, he says all is well... but it isn't always that black and white. Try to sweet talk him into doing at least a free T4 measurement. If it's high or high-normal, that's enough evidence to do more testing, including free T3 and thyroid antibodies.
Good luck at getting better diagnostic help soon.
