Hello everyone, Does anyone else experience a clamping feeling in their throat/thyroid? My diagnosis is 'non-toxic multi nodule goiter.' TPO result was < 10 (0-30) so dr said it's not hashis. But I still feel like crap. I would has sworn it was Hashis because my symptoms are all over the place. And I have a pretty regular feeling of a tightening, or a clamping around my thyroid. It's not there all the time, but when it is, it feels like I'm being choked just around my esphogus(sp?). I can still breath; swallowing is difficult, possible. I don't think its the goiter, because if it were the actual goiter, wouldn't I feel the tightness all the time?
I'm debating what to do... I've had two endo's tell me that my blood work is 'in range' and to have the goiter checked in 6 months to a year. Is it possible the blood test for the TPO was 'too early?' Meaning... early in the disase and too early to really register? I'm afraid if I go to the doctor because if the clamping isn't happening at that particular time, I'll be like - 'well sometimes...'
My husband as been awesome through all of this for the last four months, but I can tell he wants me to so 'something.' He hates for me to feel badly. Any suggestions about what avenue to try...Should I ask for the other antibody test? The only one I had was TPO.
