Re: don't understand? thyroid s

welcome to the board hun,
you are feeling pretty much the same as we all do when we first find this site, you are amongst people who know exactly how you are feeling.
the best place to start is the info pages at the top of the board. These have been written by people who have alot of knowledge and experience with thyroid disorders. i know for sure that they have helped me get well again.

keep posting with your questions and/or your blood test results and we will help as much as we can.
good luck with your appt, let us know how you get on
best wishes
daisy

Re: don't understand? thyroid s

hiya judy, alot of your symptoms are very similar to what most of us get until our meds get sorted out. You are not alone, get your b/f to read the posts on here it may help him understand what you are going through.

just over 1 yr ago I thought I was never gonna feel well agin, well here I am and doing just fine. when you get your thyroid meds, remember they dont work like aspirin does for a head ache. it can take a few months before you to begin to see an improvement.

I feel certain that one day in the near future you will be helping others
best wishes

Re: don't understand? thyroid s

Hiya judy, I cant really say if the numbness and tingling in your legs is hypoT symptoms or not, most of us share many similar symptoms but others are very individual to us. I had more psychiatric problems than physical ones mainly confusion similar to dementia and others have mainly physical ones.

write everything down before you go to the specialist, especially about the depression, tingling numbness and bladder control. I feel these need through investigations before they can be attributed to your thyroid.
Are you taking thyroid medication at the moment?

best wishes

Re: don't understand? thyroid s

judy lovey this is the place to get it all off your chest, we have all been down the scary road you are now going and some of us are still walking it and still getting scared. we know how it feels for you right now and this is what this board is all about. we care and share on here.

The fatigue you are feeling is very common with thyroid disorders whether you are hypoT or hyperT. When you go to see the specialist he will order some tests. here in the Uk we get a thyroid function test and an ultrasound scan but it does seem to differ in other parts of the world. You will know more once you have had your tests and then you will know what questions you need to ask us. I know its easy for me to say but try not to worry too much we are here for you
thinking of you xx
