Well, that's wonderful news that her thyroid antibodies (which ones - TPO, or anti-thyroglobulin?) are negative. You said she was on thyroid hormone, even to the point of suppression, and then taken off - how was she weaned off? Was her dosage gradually reduced incrementally over a period of several months? It takes time for the thyroid to "bounce" back after one suppresses it with thyroid hormone. It could be that her thyroid is still not recovered. That's one reason.
There are other reasons why thyroids do not function optimally - has she been checked for pituitary problems?
