Hot And Cold At The Same Time????

Besides feeling generally unwell, I'm also experiencing something that I can only describe as being hot and cold at the same time. That's weird, I know.

Anyone have any idea what I mean?

Re: Hot And Cold At The Same Time????

I have Graves Disease, and even though my labs say I'm fine, I do not feel fine. I constantly fluctuate from being too hot to too cold. It's crazy. I sweat like crazy in bed, then I freeze, but as soon as I put covers on, I'm hot. There's no real rhyme or reason. I'm hoping it goes away eventually. Good luck to you!

Re: Hot And Cold At The Same Time????

My example of hot and cold is I will be sweating under my arms and my feet and hands will be cold. Also, at night I will wake myself up with jerking cold. Almost like spasms but Iím freezing. The night thing happens fully clothed with socks on. I have not yet been to the endocrinologist so I can not tell you what causes this.

Yeah, I'm hyper-t and have experienced this, altho,I thought it was menopause. It was like a cold sweat, right? I really don't get it anymore, after going thru the change.

Yup, same here .... I was just recently diagnosed with Graves Disease. The sweating thing was a huge problem. Then I'd feel kinda cold. Made no sense at all! And I too thought it was menopause.

Definitely get your thyroid checked out with blood tests on your TSH levels.

Re: Hot And Cold At The Same Time????

Yep, me too.

I have graves and was recently dx with adrenal fatigue by an alt med dr going by symptoms alone. A couple of the symptoms for the adrenal fatigue is being cold and lower bp. This fit for me. I was a cold person with chillin' bp and hyperT labs.

From all the stories here it could be a possibility that other hormones(reproductive or adrenal) and your thyroid are battling over your body temperature. Kind of a tug of war.

Just a thought.
