| Re: high blood platelets thyroid any link???
Ok, just so ya know I'm not perfect. I do know that Graves affects the platelets, not sure why. Here's the only reason I know. My daughter was born with Graves(autoimmune disease of the thyroid causing hyperthyroid)although in my daughters case it was passed from my antibodies, so as soon as her body made it's own and she got ride of mine she no longer had Graves(really only way to not have it once you have had it)any way while they were trying to figure out what was wrong with her, they found that she had a VERY LOW PLATELET COUNT. They thought she had some stange disease, but turned out she just had Graves, and that is what the doctors said had caused the low platelet count. So as to high, maybe Hashi's can cause high platelet counts, not sure, but if my thoughts on it is if Graves can cause low the Hashi's could cause high.
Hope someone with real knowleadge pops in to answer this for you.
