why am I getting under-eye bags???

I have been a bad sleeper for many years, so getting a few bad nights sleep has never before given me eye bags. For about 2 months now, I've been getting these almost permanent eye bags, and even though I slept great last night, I have a double eyebag under one eye! I don't have ankle swelling or any other swelling anywhere else. Is this thyroid related????

Re: why am I getting under-eye bags???

Interesting, I have been complaining for the last month to my husband that my upper eyelids are swollen and puffy in the morning. I am approaching 40 but I swear it is related to thyroid meds maybe being off.

I've heard people with hypo have puffy eyes, but when thyroid is in normal limits it gets better.

Re: why am I getting under-eye bags???

It's fluid. Some people will never get rid of it even on a proper med dose.
There is a procedure called R.E.S.T. that helps get rid of the fluid. Unfortunately, very few Docs now about thyroid eye disease. Try to find an Ocuplastic or eye surgeon that treats thyroid eye disease.
