Question Levoxyl -- OK to put in fridge?

Hi!
I am in the northeast US where we are experiencing very hot weather. My apartment is very warm. I am concerned about my levoxyl.

Can I store it in the refrigerator? It says to store it at 68-77 degrees F (20-25 degrees C) with excursions permitted between 59-86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C).

My apartment is above 77 degrees F, and my refrigerator is below 68 degrees F, and I can't afford to air condition my place for my medicine.

I called my pharmacy and they said to "keep it at room temperature." Well, my place is hotter than a normal room temp!

Has anyone successfully stored Levoxyl in the fridge? Other ideas? I can't have this medicine break down because of heat! It's been two days now and I'm concerned.

Thank you!

Re: Levoxyl -- OK to put in fridge?

It will break down much faster in the fridge because of moisture condensation. Hot room temp is better than cold fridge temps.

If you're really concerned, and if hot weather is going to be a problem for you for the entire summer, I suppose you could use an insulated mini-cooler with one of those chemical ice packs in the bottom. Don't set the bottle on the ice pack... put a towel between the pack and the bottle... You have to keep it away from dampness. This method would keep it cooler than room temp but far warmer than refrigerator cold which you don't want. You'd have to swap out the ice pack for a frozen one each day, probably.

Re: Levoxyl storage question

Hi! Thank you so much! I will try the cool ice pack with towel idea. Very much appreciated. It's taken me so long to get to this dose that I don't want anything to mess up the medication now!
