armour vs generic armour

Last week I went to get my Armour prescription refilled. There wasn't enough for a whole prescription, so I had to come back to get the rest. I just found out that the pharmacy doesn't stick to just one type of Armour. The pharmacist himself told me that if there is enough of the brand name, they use the generic to fill the prescription and vice versa. I am VERY upset by this.
First I didn't know that there was a generic Armour. And secondly, could this be the reason that I've been yo-yoing so much? I didn't think they could switch medications like that without notifying someone. Any ideas on how I should handle this?
And what is generic Armour thyroid?

This same thing happend to me too. Not sure why they subsitute the generic but I noticed that the generic did nothing for me. what I do now to ensure that my armour is the brand name, is when i call the pharmacy for a refil I specificaly say to fill it with the brand name and not the generic. Sometimes they need to call the doctor to get a confirmation but thats ok with me. Make sure the doc writes out the perscription for brand name armour before you take it to the pharmacy though.
