hi all i did go to endo and shes checking my tsh ,ft3 and 4 my anti tpo and cortisol which i checked the box for that test just to see is the test done like the tsh and t3 and 4 and ft 3 and 4? i have never had one done but could any of you explain to me what all the tests tells i know about the tsh its the whole thyrold hormone in the body i believe im new to all this so somethings i dont understand i was on levothyroxine since jan tried synthyrold in march then was put back on levothyroxine but couldnt take either i did ok on them for awhile but to be honest the new meds my endo put me on levoxyl 25mcgs to start out since i stopped taking the levothyroxine for a whole week because i was on 75mcgs and my upper arms hurt my chest hurt horribly ,my stomach was upset i had headaches and diarea and some dizziness and i was having more and more panic couldnt sleep much and my heart was beating so fast it was driving me nuts .well went to endo and i want to ask a question is a heartrate of 60 good or bad? is that too low or is that normal????

Cortisol is a hormone produced by the adrenal glands. When people here are talking about adrenal fatigue or adrenal insuffiency (addisons), they are having their cortisol meausured. Some people who have adrenal fatigue, do not respond to thyroid hormone treatment and need to have it addressed first. Some people here take cortef, which contain hydrocortisone. Hope this helps.

You need to have your adrenals tested with a 24 hr saliva. Like as not that is why you are having such difficulty taking thyroid meds. Bouncing up and down, on and off meds are only stressing them even more. Your stress levels are stressing them as well.

Find a doc to test them correctly or get them tested on your own. You are running into a brick wall staying as you are.

deb ,iam at a brick wall i called my gyn and i have no idea if he will test my cortisol i also called my endo and they have to call me back otherwise on the internet its going to cost me over 200.00 unless i find a dr who wikll run the test for me so i dont know i guess wait and see if my gyn or my endo will check this for me .but so far the levoxyl 25mcgs are helping but yes i need a increase thats for sure as im sleeping alot wake early and get crabby and in evening i fall asleep again but i have to wait for my lab test i dont get them done till 1st week of aug and see endo aug 9th.and i see gyn july 30th so if i want my insurance to pay i have to have dr approval they said .
