Question Cold Weather and Brain Fog

DX - Hashimoto's RX - Synthroid 88mcg

I have had thyroid problems for years. Once on this new dosage my TSH always hangs in around 1.x. (All other parameters are well within tolerance). One of the worst symptoms was brain fog. I lived in PA, retired, and moved to DE, and the brain fog followed. I moved to NC for there and after a few months in the hot weather my brain fog just disappeared.
I lived in NC for two more years and moved to SC for a year. During my stay in the Carolinas I had no brain fog. Alas I missed PA and so I moved back and after being here for three months and once again exposed to the colder weather my brain fog is returning. From this experience I may assume that cold weather causes my brain fog. However, I don't tolerate heat very well either. This past summer in SC was horrible with one month being over 90 every day. Still no brain fog there. I have to make a decision to stay in PA or move back to the south. I would appreciate hearing your comments.
Thanks

Re: Cold Weather and Brain Fog

It is good that your TSH is low, around 1.0 but what is your FREE T3?
Are they testing that and is it in the middle to upper range and NOT in the middle to lower part of the "normal range"? That would defiately account for brain fog.

Maybe the sunshine you were getting in the south increased your vitaman D level. And maybe for some reason you were converting the T4 into T3 better in the south....maybe the sunshine and vit D factor. Were you eating more fresh veges in the south? That could help you convert T4 into T3 better.
