Hi,
I tried to post this a minute ago and it didn't work? Oh well...I need to have my blood drawn to check my TSH and Free T4, a cbc, iron, because I now have anemia, and Ferritin, because it was a pathetic 5 one month ago, along with calcium and Phosphorus as they have been low since surgery. I THOUGHT I had read on here once that you are supposed to check TSH etc. in the morning before taking Levothyroxine? Is this for thyroid cancer pts, or is this for hashi's and graves pts? The endo never told me anything about it. I take Levo for replacement for not having a thyroid and for cancer supression. So, can I go here in a few minutes to have my blood drawn, or do i wait til tomorrow and not take the Levo and have it drawn?
Thank you so much if anyone is on who knows!!!
Lori
I'm sorry, but I hear different things from different docs.... some say it does matter what time of day you take the test and some say it doesn't. So much for medical school!

ssMarilyn and Mother Bear,
Thank you both so much for your replies. Obviously there is conflicting info out there....I appreciate your responses as my endo never told me one way or the other??
Take care,
Lori
I take my meds. every morning, even if I'm having bloodwork. I don't think it affects tsh, and in my case, since I take the meds. every day, I want the bloodwork to reflect my blood with the medication that I'm taking---not sure if that makes sense......

Hi Reece,
How are you? Yes, that does make sense to me. I would hope that the endo office would tell me if I needed to not take the meds before a blood draw, but who knows? I have learned so much more from you and others than I have from the doc.
Take care,
Lori
