Thyroid and menstrual cycles
I know thyroid issues are associated with messing up the cycles... but how much and how severely ??

For the first time in 18 years of menstruating years I've been spotting/bloody discharge from Day 11 of the previous period starting. There is some discomfort and it doesn't really "feel" like a period and I am worried about what might be going on...
I have gained flab around my belly in the last 3 weeks very suddenly..
I can't wait for my next thyroid check now...

But am wondering if a hypo state could do such mess ups with the menstrual cycle. (I've had little sleep in a week.. just cannot sleep well thee days)

Oh, for what its worth . there's no chance of being pregnant and I've been on many antibiotics for a throat infection.

The thyroid can mess up your cycle pretty bad. Some people go months without a cycle at all or the cycles are far apart or very close together.
I'm not sure if what you are experiencing is thyroid related or not. Might be a good idea to give your dr a call and let him/her know what is going on instead of waiting till your next appointment. Unless your appointment is very soon, call now.

Oh, I would say yes, it can mess with your period! I have been off all thyroid meds ( I have a TT) for about 3 weeks now, so I am getting very hypo at the moment. Getting ready for scans and another RAI. My current menstrual cycle has already gone haywire without my levothyroxine! I'm all messed up and I am normally like clockwork. So, just from first hand experience, I'm guessing there is a connection.
