Skin peeling means hypo, right?

But what about when accompanied by extreme night sweats?

Yesterday my hands could have been mistaken as belonging to a leper--huge chunks of skin peeling off several fingers. In the past this has always seemed to indicate I need a little more Synthroid.

But my bedding is soaked in sweat every night, so bad I hate crawling back into it when returning from "paying the water bill."

Is peeling skin a symptom of both hyper and hypo?

Archie,

I think you need to call your doctor. Peeling hands (and feet) can also mean strep throat! The night sweats don't sound good either. Hope you feel better.

I agree with the poster above me Archie.. You really do need to contact your dr. Nights sweats is a good indicator something is going on.. Like a simple infection..

Hope you feel better!

Re: Skin peeling means hypo, right?

I have a routine appointment with my GP in about 10 days so I will certainly mention these symptoms. But the skin peeling on my hands has happened before when I was hypo. In addition to sweating profusely when asleep I'm also heat sensitive which is a hyper symptom. When hypo I like the house to be warm--73 or higher. Now I'm uncomfortably warm at 72 and prefer 70. I know some symptoms can be part of both hypo- and hyper- but what about these? And what about mental fog? I'm having a little of that, too.

I am not feverish so I don't think I have strep or any other infection.
